Weslo Momentum Ellipticals
Weslo Momentum Ellipticals aren't at the high end of the elliptical price scale. You can even find them for under $300. With any piece of exercise equipment you get what you pay for. You can get results if you use a Weslo Momentum elliptical properly but don't expect it to function like a higher quality and more expensive elliptical trainer.
Any aerobic exercise machine can give you a good workout if it meets these basic requirements: - Stable enough for your body weight. You don't want a flimsy piece of equipment that moves around while your trying to have your elliptical workout. This can be unsafe and very inefficient. Eventually an unstable machine will become an expensive clothes line.
- Adequate warranty. Check the warranty before you buy any elliptical trainer.
- Large enough platforms for your feet. Make sure your feet won't be cramped. I've been on ellipticals where my feet filled the entire platform. This makes for a very uncomfortable workout that will become very frustrating.
- Long enough stride for your height. Some cheap ellipticals have too short of a stride. Don't get one with a 14 inch stride. You'll enjoy a 21 inch stride much more and get a more productive workout that will help you burn off belly fat!
Of all Weslo Momentum ellipticals the 745 may be one worth considering. It is one of their higher end products. It comes with 10 levels of resistance and 4 personal trainer programs for variety in your elliptical workouts. It also has a large LCD display and an Easy Pulse heart rate monitor. If you're not familiar with the Weslo name you probably have heard of Schwinn. They've been around a long time and have a good reputation for building dependable exercise equipment. The Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer may give you a little more for your money that the Weslo Momentum ellipticals. The Schwinn 430 Elliptical Trainer has been reviewed more than 450 times at Amazon and still has a 4.5 STAR rating! That's pretty impressive! The following three variables for your aerobic exercise plan apply to elliptical workouts: - Frequency. At least 3 times each week but 4-5 exercise sessions will help you reach your goals faster.
- duration. Don't overdo it in the beginning but build up to at least a 20 minute workout. Thirty to forty-five minute elliptical workouts are common and give much better and quicker results.
- Intensity. Don't try reading the newspaper while you're on your elliptical trainer. You need to stay focused and at least break a light sweat.
I keep up with these three variables for my workouts with a Garmin Forerunner 305 heart rate monitor. The prices have come down considerably. I got mine at Amazon. Click on the image below to read the reviews of the one I purchased.
