Motivation Information

We need motivation information for maintaining optimum health and wellness. Why?

Because sooner or later we will not be motivated. That’s normal.

"The good news is that we can recapture our motivation."

Where does the word “motivation” come from?

The Greek and Latin root means “to move.”

What is the definition of motivation?

There are many defintions of motivation out there. One person says that it is a psychological concept with no single universally accepted definition.

We may have difficulty defining motivation but we sure know when we have it and when we don’t.

The definition of motivation for some is the “desire” to accomplish a goal or take some specific action. Some say that it goes beyond desire to include a “willingness” to act.

Others call it a “driving force” or a “driving need” that makes people do what they do. Motivation has been called the “push” of mental forces to accomplish a task.

After looking at many definitions of motivation I have put together this one that I hope will become a part of your motivation information library and be useful in the future:

" Motivation is a combination of internal and external influences exerted on our thoughts, emotions, and bodies that prompt us to take action and move toward what we believe will be of benefit to us in the short and/or long term. "

Why can’t I stay motivated?

When we aren’t motivated we aren’t moving. We aren’t taking those actions that we know will benefit us. There are reasons for this paralysis that overtakes us all at times.

We are complex beings with minds, bodies, emotions, relationships, needs, and desires living in a complex world that exerts its influences on us.

Acquiring motivation information tends to energize us and move us toward action. A motivational thought has great power to move us toward our goals. However, there are also factors that enter our life to move us away from taking that action.

These factors include sickness, strained relationships, life responsibilities, hormones, diet, exercise, fatigue, stress, and emotional factors that we might not even be able to identify.

It is always helpful if we can identify what has contributed to us losing our motivation but it may not be possible at all times.

Is there anything I can do when I don’t feel motivated or should I sit around and just wait for my motivation to return?

There absolutely are things to do when you lose your motivation. We want to provide you with motivation information to help you get your motivation and keep it.

This online motivation has the advantage of being available at all times and especially when you need it most.

Here are 4 Motivation Tips that you can employ quickly and in almost any situation. Although quite simple, the effects can be quite profound.

1. Go outside and take a walk.

Most people spend most of their time indoors. Sometimes getting outside and breathing fresh air changes our perspective enough to ignite our motivation.

Also, when we move our bodies and get our blood and lymph circulating it is often all we need to propel us to action.

2. Breathe deeply.

Most people are shallow breathers. Taking in more oxygen with deep breaths will clear the mind and bring mental and physical energy. Try it; you might be surprised.

3. Reduce sugar from your diet.

Sugar has a profound impact on how we feel. For the sake of your health and wellness you should reduce sugar intake.

4. Drink plenty of water.

Water is essential to life and yet many people live on the brink of dehydration. There are many benefits to drinking sufficient quantities of water each day. Our family has been using the Water Wise distiller and we love it. You simply will not believe how clear and clean this water tastes. You owe it to yourself to drink the best water available.
