Maximizing Motivation
101
Maximizing motivation leads us to a happy, fulfilling, and energetic life. The word motivation implies that we are moving.
Moving forward in life toward our goals stimulates us to keep moving. This page is the beginning of a plan and process that keeps us in this state of constantly moving without becoming stuck.
Albert Einstein said, “Nothing happens until something moves.” The following list of simple, easy steps that you can start taking today will get you moving. Once you start moving positive things start happening.
But first you must start moving.
Steps to Maximizing Motivation
- DECLUTTER surroundings.
Yes, cleaning up your room is a great place to start. Cluttered surroundings tend to sap our energy and motivation. You don’t have to declutter your entire house or office at one time. Pick one area such as your desktop or a closet and get it straight.
This will give you a sense of accomplishment and propel you to take further action.
Eventually you will want to declutter your life but first start with your desktop!
- FORGIVE others.
To move forward we need to lighten our load as much as possible. Clutter has a way of weighing us down. So do grudges. We simply can't keep our motivation at a peak level as long as we hold a grudge.
Great power is unleashed in our life when we forgive another person. Holding a grudge is very destructive and keeps us from moving forward. Let it go. You’ll be surprised how lighter you will feel and how quickly you start moving toward your goals.
- THINK positively.
Nothing is more important in maximizing motivation than a positive attitude. We always soar toward our goals on the wings of a positive attitude. There are many things in this life and our pursuit of success that our outside of our control.
Fortunately for us, one of the most important things is within our total control: our attitude. Always be working on how you think. Thinking positively really is powerful.
- WRITE daily.
An ink pen and notepad are two potent instruments in reaching optimum motivation. Start writing your thoughts, goals, plans, and resources on a sheet of paper.
You will be amazed at what you see. If you are faced with a challenge, write it down. Once you see it in writing you are better able to plan how you will meet the challenge.
- LEARN continually.
Learning keeps our minds sharp and motivated. When we stop learning we become stagnant just as water that doesn’t move. A moving river, on the other hand, stays fresh just as a learning mind stays fresh.
Take advantage of living in the information age. Keep learning; keep motivated; keep moving.
This is Maximizing Motivation 101 because these are very basic steps that we can all implement today to keep moving forward. These aren’t the only steps but they should be the first ones.
Don’t overlook them because they sound so simple. Their simplicity is surpassed by their power to help you in your pursuit of success and excellence.
