Kettlebells exercises have become a very hot trend in the fitness industry. Health clubs and gyms are offering kettlebells workouts in both class settings and individual personal training. This recent increase in interest and use of this form of exercise prompted the American Council on Exercise (ACE) to examine the science behind these workouts. The team conducting the study was lead by John Porcari, Ph.D. and Chad Schnettler, M.S. Dr Porcari said, "We wanted to look and see how much of an aerobic workout you really do get and how many calories you really burn." The results revealed that you can get a great workout! The data revealed a much higher intensity workout than standard weight training routines when looking at the HR and VO2 responses of those participating in the study. Additionally these workouts easily met fitness industry recommendations for improving cardiovascular fitness. Kettlebells exercises may be for you if: 1. Have limited time to exercise 2.
