Kettlebells Exercises

Kettlebells exercises have become a very hot trend in the fitness industry. Health clubs and gyms are offering kettlebells workouts in both class settings and individual personal training. Maybe you've seen one of these cannon-ball shaped iron orbs and thought it to be just another passing fad among exercise enthusiasts. Think again!

The kettlebell and kettlebells exercises have been around for centuries. Russian strongmen were swinging them in the early 1700's to build strength, endurance, flexibility, and endurance. The question is, do they work?

Well, Hollywood actors are using kettlebells exercises to get muscular, lean, and fit as quickly as possible. For example, lead actor Gerard Butler who played King Leonidas of Sparta in the Movie 300 used them to prepare for his role in the film.

But don't think that this is one of the exercise programs intended for only the Hollywood types. People around the world are swinging them to dramatically change the composition of their bodies.

Here's what an ordinary person, Tracey, has to say about the kettlebell exercises she found in the Kettlenetices Slim and Tone Kit:

I workout and do cardio. (I am 36yo female) I can be on the treadmill running for 30 minutes and barely break a sweat. I do this for 20 minutes and even my hair is even wet I can't believe it. This is such a quality product and for the price you can't beat it for what you get anywhere. Just remember to do the "Flow Motion Basics" disk first. If you are like me you want to jump right into it, but you are only hurting yourself. Get the DVD 1 basics down (20 minutes) at least once and move to DVD2 "Slim and Tone". I did them the same day following one another.(Friday) I was actually sore in my middle back the next day and I don't think I ever have been. Definately wait day in between the real workouts. I then jumped to the cardio balance DVD 3 for 40 minutes on the Sunday. I thought I was going to die. I thought I was fit but I guess NOT SO MUCH. I took one break and drank some water but I made it through the disk. I used this for 6 weeks 3 times a week and I have lost 10 pound and toned up BIGTIME my arms, legs and hip area. Lines in my stomach are now visable and it's great. I actually canceled my gym membership and do this at home in the early morning before work. P.S. 4 pounds is PLENTY. I thought it would not be BUT IT IS!!!"

kettlebell exercises

Fitness professionals are touting the huge advantage they offer by combining cardio and strength training in one workout. Some are even asking why you should spend thirty minutes on the treadmill and thirty minutes pushing weights when you can get the same result with 20 minutes of these exercises.

Some gyms are now offering only this form of exercise to their clients. It has become so popular in some areas that there are waiting lists for bootcamps and group classes.

But many people are using kettlebells exercises to lose belly fat and get in great shape in the privacy of their own homes. The bottom line is that swinging them are a hot trend and people are reporting incredible results.

This recent increase in interest and use of this form of exercise prompted the American Council on Exercise (ACE) to examine the science behind these workouts. The team conducting the study was lead by John Porcari, Ph.D. and Chad Schnettler, M.S. Dr Porcari said, "We wanted to look and see how much of an aerobic workout you really do get and how many calories you really burn."

The results revealed that you can get a great workout! The data revealed a much higher intensity workout than standard weight training routines when looking at the HR and VO2 responses of those participating in the study. Additionally these workouts easily met fitness industry recommendations for improving cardiovascular fitness.

Kettlebells exercises may be for you if:

1. Have limited time to exercise

2. Want to increase lean muscle mass

3. Lose body fat

4. Get flat abs as quickly as possible

5. Have a healthy heart

I've used them for a couple of years and have found them to provide a great cardio workout while also building lean muscle mass.

But like other forms of exercise you need good equipment and good instruction.
