How To Burn Belly Fat

The 5 Laws

Knowing how to burn belly fat will put you on the path to flat abs, a healthier heart, and an enhanced immune system.

"This may be one of the most important pieces of knowledge you can acquire to improve your health and wellness."

We have reached the crisis mode with excess belly fat. The food industry continues to disregard the devastating effects of high-fat and high-calorie food items.

Restaurants continue serving super-sized meals that could feed two or more people. The medical and pharmaceutical industries promote pills instead of prevention.

These and other factors make it even more crucial that we learn how to burn belly fat. Many people follow fads and become frustrated because they never see the desired results. These fads always violate the laws of fat-burning.

When you learn how to drive you must learn the laws of driving. When you learn how to burn belly fat you need to know certain laws.

The 5 Laws of Belly Fat Burning

1. You burn belly fat by creating a calorie deficit. Your body requires energy to function. This energy comes from food. We measure the energy contained in food in calories.

Your body requires a certain number of calories to maintain its current size. When you take in too much energy (calories) it becomes stored energy (fat).

To lose this stored energy you have to create a deficit in the number of calories you consume and the number you burn in a day’s activities. When you do this your body will call for energy from your body fat. Your fat sends the energy and the fat cells get smaller.

Don't you think the personal trainers on television's The Biggest Loser know how to create a calorie deficit? That's why you see them using the TRX.

It is one of the hottest trends in the fitness industry. The reason is that it gets great results when it comes to burning fat, building muscle, improving flexibility, and enhancing balance.

You also will not find a better piece of exercise equipment to build the all-important core muscles. For more information please click on the image below.

2. You burn belly fat by reducing your calorie intake. This is part of the calorie deficit equation. Many people focus excessively on this part of the equation and cut their calories to unhealthy levels.

Our bodies maintain a delicate balance or set point when it comes to storing and expending energy. When we drastically reduce our calorie intake, our bodies go into starvation mode.

This means it tenaciously clings to the energy (fat) that it has stored. Eventually the set point is lowered and our body needs fewer calories to maintain itself. This means we will store fat at lower calorie levels.

3. You burn belly fat by increasing lean muscle mass. There is a common misconception about strength training. It is a fear that it will lead to bulking up and actually looking bigger.

Unless you are a serious bodybuilder, this will not occur. Instead you will look leaner and more fit. Strength training helps burn belly fat in two ways. First, you will be expending extra calories during your workout. Using interval training will enhance this benefit even more.

Second, the muscle you build actually increases the calorie-burning potential of your body even at rest.

4. You burn belly fat by increasing your movement. Your body needs more energy when it moves than when it is sedentary. If we engage in aerobic activity, our body will start calling on stored energy (fat) once it uses its readily available energy.

The more sedentary you are the more likely you are to store energy (fat).

5. You burn belly fat as a part of losing body fat. You cannot target belly fat. If you want to know how to burn belly fat you have to rid your thinking of this false notion.

There is absolutely nothing you can do to burn belly fat before your body burns other fat stores. As you create a calorie deficit you will start using your stored energy sources (fat). Eventually this will come from your abdominal fat stores.

You need to learn how to burn belly fat for the sake of your health if for no other reason. Of course there are other benefits such as improved appearance, better self image, and higher energy levels.

Obey these laws and you will successfully burn belly fat.
