Best Motivational Speaker

The best motivational speaker is one who ignites your motivation and prompts you to take positive action. We are all motivated by different styles of speakers. Some people prefer very animated and energetic motivational speakers while others prefer those who use a more conversational tone.

Here are some qualities to look for when you are searching for the best motivational speaker:

  • Uses proper voice inflection. Too much is annoying but too little is boring. A good speaker will inflect at just the right time to hold your attention.

  • Uses proper amount of illustrations. A well-timed illustration will cement the speakers point in your mind. Overuse of illustrations leaves you feeling entertained but not motivated.

  • Uses proper body movement. It isn’t necessary that a speaker move at all. Some speakers do very well standing in one place. Some movement can be beneficial but excessive movement can be a distraction.

  • Proper use of audio-visual aids. Power point presentations are popular and can be quite helpful. A speaker who relies too heavily on this will never motivate the audience. The spoken word is very powerful to motivate others.

  • Proper use of eye contact. Eye contact connects the speaker and the listener. The best motivational speaker will keep his or her eyes constantly moving and connecting with the audience.

  • Proper use of clothing. Clothing is important in that it should be neutral. It should not be extreme in any manner as to draw attention away from the words being spoken.

  • Proper use of time. A speaker can reach a point of diminishing returns when it comes to motivating others. There is an optimum time to end so that the potential for motivations is maximized.

  • Proper call to action. The best motivational speakers will give a specific call to action. This will be an action that easy to remember and implement when the speaker has concluded.

The best motivational coach for you may be someone you never actually see and hear speak. This is true for me.

My favorite is Earl Nightingale. He is my motivation coach via recordings made while he was living. His series, Lead the Field is a classic in self help and motivation.

Other recorded speakers I find very motivating are John MacArthur, David Jeremiah, R.T. Kendall, Brian Tracy, and Zig Ziglar.

Each one of these is a motivation coach for me in their own unique way.

When you are choosing recorded speakers to listen to you want to be sure their voice is motivational for you. Some speakers have great content but their voice isn’t motivating. Try reading their books and finding speakers that motivate you with voice inflection, cadence, and intonation.

Don’t underestimate the difference it can make in your life to listen to motivational recordings. Doing this can turn your driving time from a time of frustration to a time of motivation.
